A new class schedule is sent out each quarter. Our classes include beginning quiltmaking, hand quilting, machine quilting, paper piecing and a variety of techniques and quilt tops. On average there are 50 classes each quarter so you're sure to find something to spark your interest. Classes are held for one, two or three sessions during the daytime, evenings or weekends. Class supply lists are available at the shop in advance of the first class. Please call us at (651) 452-8891 or e-mail us if you'd like to register for classes.

• If a class requires a sewing machine, make sure your machine is in good working order.
• Quilt classes are generally for the top only. Help with finishing your quilt is always available at the shop; classes on finishing will be available periodically.
• Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class so you will have time to get your supplies organized and purchase any additional supplies you may need.
• In consideration of classmates, children should not accompany you to class.
• If enrollment is too low we will notify you 7 days prior to the start of class. Refunds or store credits will be given if the cancellation is made by us

Too many quilt tops and not enough time? Tired of machine quilting "in the ditch"? Well, drop those feed dogs and take off with all the lovely quilting stencils that you really want to use. This hands-on class will focus on freehand quilting with information and demonstrations of quilting with a walking foot, nylon thread and various other specialty threads. Proper techniques for quilting full size quilts will also be covered. Students must know how to remove, cover or lower feed dogs and must have a darning foot.

Supplies needed for quilting are the first topic of discussion. Then, the running stitch, stab stitch, and rocking stitch will be demonstrated. Various threads, battings and their workability for hand quilting will also be discussed.

This method of creating quilts and other projects has been around for years. It's a great take-along project that you can toss in your purse. Any fabric works well, especially the 30's reproduction fabric that we carry a lot of. The squares are handpieced around paper which is later removed and then the shapes are put together to create a block. This is a hand project that anyone can do.
     
Stained Glass Technique

Like the bulls-eye quilt but want a new look? This quilt is a frayed edge quilt using a rose template. Purchase a kit, buy a great spring color combo of fabric, use up scraps, or combine the two - the results will be stunning! Although the store sample is 57" x 57", the quilt can be made larger. (Be prepared, this project is so much fun you may end up with a king size quilt!)

This great looking flannel quilt uses only fat quarters. Even the background can be done using only fat quarters. there are many layout possibilities using just one asymmetrical, rotary cut, template free building block. Six sizes and fabric requirements available. Fabric kits that look just like the store smaple are also available, so come on in and check it out. Get a head start on a warm, cuddly fall flannel throw!

Come in and see the throw quilt "Forever Stripes" we'll be making during quilt camp. It is a fun red, white and blue quilt you can use in many ways. This quilt has been made into kits for your convenience or, your kids can come in prior to class to choose thier own fabrics. Camp is open to girls and goys ages 8 and up. Parents need not attend, but should notify staff as to whether or not their child may use a rotary cutter.

The history of this quilt is almost as beautiful as the quilt itself. the Delectable Mountains meant gardens and fountains of water to John Bunyan's pilgrims in the book, "The Pilgrim's Progress". This quilt is a wonderful pattern to show appreciation and love for our beautiful country. Although our quilt is a queen-size, fabric requirements are available for any size ranging from a wall-hanging to a king. The store sample has mountains of crimson and green contrasting with lighter background fabrics. Fabric kits are available. Make this beautiful quilt for your very own this fall.

Jane Stickle created her 169 block quilt during the Civil War. Each block measures 4½" and must be individually drafted. This will be an ongoing project that will meet once a month. Please join me as we retrace history and use past and present techniques to create these blocks.
